Google has launched Family Link, a mobile app that helps parents monitor their children’s phone usage. With this app, parents will get weekly and monthly activity reports of their kids. Additionally, parents will be able to set timers for how long their kids can use their smartphones. Interestingly, importantly, it helps the parent set up their child’s first Google account in accordance with the rules that suits the child.

When your child is ready for their first Android device,Family Link lets you create a Google Account for them, which is like your own account, and also set certain digital ground rules that work for your family, like managing the apps your kid can use, keeping an eye on the screen time, and setting a bedtime on your kid’s device.

Meanwhile, family link app to work, both the parent and the child must use Android powered device. The parent’s Android device version must run Android 4.4 or higher while the child’s device version must be running at least Android 7.0 (Nougat).
